Since 1984, Toronto Crime Stoppers has been (and remains) a successful platform for the public to anonymously share information about a crime or suspicious activity. Integral to Toronto Crime Stoppers and our goal of keeping Toronto communities safe is being a partner in stopping Hate Motivated Crimes.
On April 9 2024, Toronto Crime Stoppers with their partner Toronto Police Service launched a public awareness campaign with the theme of “Hate Crimes weigh heavily on entire communities”.
The campaign will comprise of a selection of social media ad’s (shown here) and radio public service announcements.
The focus of the initiative is straightforward – create awareness in the community on this issue and most importantly remind citizens they
have a conduit to relay anonymous information of those who engage in this type of activity by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submitting a tip online at 222tips.com.
Anonymously saying something to Toronto Crime Stoppers about a Hate Motivated Crime not only keeps our communities safe, but it may also just save someone’s life.
As citizens, we should all feel safe in our communities, to move about without fear because there is absolutely No Place For Hate in any city.
Working on the premise that Community Safety Is A Shared Responsibility - It is our duty as community members to be there for others - to SPEAK UP for those who cannot or will not.
We should all be empowered to stand up for what is right, even if it means going against what everyone else is doing – this is how we break the code of silence!
By working together with aggressive campaigns like this, Toronto Crime Stoppers will continue to make a difference in the prevention of crime across our City.
Community Safety Is A Shared Responsibility.
When we as a “community” remain silent, we are all victims!
Let’s choose the difficult right, over the easy wrong to speak up and by doing so it will support Toronto Crime Stoppers year’s theme of "Your City. Your Safety. Your Call."\
Toronto Crime Stoppers and Toronto Police Service remains committed in our continued efforts to mobilize the community to "See It. Say It. Stop It. for a safer Toronto".
